ModelicaML installation

ModelicaML installation

Hi,

I followed the instruction at ModelicaML - Installation (PDF) to install ModelicaML for Eclipse.

It states, that only Acceleo 2.8 is supported. But when it comes to the last step, which is to install the actual ModelicaML Plugin, the eclipse software installer complains about unresolved dependencies and wants to install Acceleo 3.4.2
After confirming this, the installation quits with an error:

The current version of ModelicaML which is provided by the update site is 1.9.6 but the guide referes to 1.8.5, so there may be some compatibility issues.

Please let me know, if there is anything to do, which is not within the guide, yet. Maybe one could update it, to correspond with the current software version.

Thanks,
Stanley

Re: ModelicaML installation

Hi,

The prototype has not been updated yet.
It currently works only with Eclipse Kepler and older version of some frameworks used (e.g. Xtext - its' newer version causes the problem in this case).
In case you are using Windows we can point you to a .zip file that contains an Eclipse Kepler instance that has everything installed.

Re: ModelicaML installation

Hi Wladimir,

I followed the instructions from the guide, including all version information:
- Eclipse Kepler SR2 with Modeling Tools 2.0.2
- Papyrus 0.10.2
- Xtext 2.4.3
- Acceleo 2.8.0
- MDT 0.7.34

So every dependency should be ok, instead of the fact, that ModelicaML is of a much newer version and depends on Acceleo 3.4.2.

A working Windows package would be very great, so I can test it tomorrow on my other machine.

Re: ModelicaML installation

Hi Wladimir,

I'm facing the same problems for installing ModelicaML.
A working Windows package would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance

Re: ModelicaML installation

Hi,

you can download a ModelicaML Eclipse instance for Win 64Bit here:
http://www.ida.liu.se/labs/pelab/modeli … clipse.zip

I hope it helps.

Wladimir

Re: ModelicaML installation

Hi Wladimir,

Thank you for uploading the package. I installed it and it works. However, I'm not able to simulate the model. I have the open modelica compiler onlie but when I click on simulate nothing happens and I couldn't find any help on simulation.
Can you please give me some advice.
Thank you again.
Best regards.

Re: ModelicaML installation

You can try to simulate the Modelica code in OMEdit to make sure that there are no errors...

Re: ModelicaML installation

Hi,

I downloaded the file, and unzipped the contents to a memory stick.
Eclipse opens ok, when I use this memory stick with my personal desktop, and personal laptop.
However if I try to use the memory stick with my work laptop, I get an error message about 'no java virtual machine was found after searching ....eclipse\jre\bin\javaw.exe

Is this an issue caused by eclipse expecting a 64bit version of java, but finding only a 32bit version on my work laptop?
I have tried various approaches including pasting a 64 bit version of java into the eclipse\jre\bin\javaw.exe path, but with no success.

is there some setting within eclipse that I can modify to change the eclipse\jre\bin\javaw.exe path?

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks.

Re: ModelicaML installation

See eclipse.ini where eclipse.exe is, i think you can change the path in there.
Have a look here: https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse.ini#-v … ws_Example

Thanks adrpo,

I followed  the guidance on that webpage, and changed the vm path.
I still get the error message, but at least it does now refer to the vm path that I added.
I think that narrows down the root cause, to the fact that I am using a 64bit version of eclipse, and a 32bit version of java - when I need a 64bit version of java.
I will try and install 64bit java onto the memory stick tonight.

UPDATE:

I installed a 64bit version of java (must be v1.6), and updated the eclipse.ini file, and everything now loads ok from the memory stick.
Thanks for your help, adrpo
